In this post, I will share insights on some of our top offsite picks, focusing on the charming town of Celebration, the lively International Drive, and spacious villas perfect for families.

Exploring Celebration

Just a short drive away from Walt Disney World, Celebration is a town that captures the magic of Disney. One of our favourite stays in 2025 was at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Orlando Celebration. This hotel provided large, comfortable rooms that felt like a peaceful retreat after busy days at the parks. It was ideally located, allowing us to reach Disney in under 10 minutes, maximizing our time to enjoy the rides and attractions, as we do love to rope drop, so this location was ideal.

Celebration itself is a beautifully crafted community with picturesque streets, unique shops, and charming restaurants. We spent time wandering the sidewalks and appreciated the friendly vibe. We especially enjoyed dining at Downtown Diner for breakfast where we feasted on delicious American food. There can sometimes be a big wait for a table as it is so popular so be sure to pop in and put your name on the waiting list before exploring the rest of Celebration. There is a Starbucks off to the side if you still need a coffee fix! There is a gorgeous walk you can do here, the views are stunning but beware of the crocs & squirrels.

International Drive Adventure

Next, let's talk about the vibrant International Drive, known for its abundance of hotels, restaurants, and attractions. We enjoyed multiple stays at the Avanti International Resort, with visits in 2023 and again in September 2025. This area is perfect for those wanting quick access to Universal Studios and all the excitement I-Drive has to offer.

The Avanti features spacious rooms, multiple pools, and fantastic dining options. One highlight of our stay was dining at Bahama Breeze, where we loved the jerk chicken tacos and tropical cocktails, making it an ideal spot after a day at the parks.

There's also plenty of entertainment along I-Drive. You can visit ICON Park, where you can enjoy a ride on The Wheel, offering stunning views of the city from 400 feet up. Did you know that this area sees over 8 million visitors each year? It’s bustling with activity, ensuring there’s always something fun to do. We love to mini golf and so far have completed 3 of them, they are so much fun and we personally feel very well reasonably priced, the ideal activity to walk off your dinner.

For anyone planning a visit to Universal Studios and who appreciates a lively setting, I-Drive is an excellent offsite choice.

Family-Friendly Villas

For larger family vacations, renting a villa can be an ideal option. While these accommodations are sometimes further from the main attractions, they offer significant benefits like more space, private pools, and full kitchens. Having stayed in various villas during our family trips, they have greatly enhanced our experience.

Villas provide not only comfortable sleeping arrangements but also encourage quality family time with shared living areas. We enjoyed many pool days right outside our door, which was perfect for unwinding after busy park days. Some villas have their own game room, which keep the kids & your husband entertained for hours.

If you are a golf enthusiast, consider looking for villa communities situated near top golf courses. Many options are available that allow you to enjoy a round in the morning and then take the family to enjoy the attractions in the afternoon.
